5 Books On My Nightstand

True stories inspire me to my core. I love them. I came across the story
of Darlene Deibler Rose who survived great trials during World War II.
I pray her faith to overcome so many obstacles will stir my faith and trust in God.

A teenage girl in our church recommended this book.
She read it and was challenged to be radical in her walk with God.
I want to be radical, too!

I discovered this book onlilne and it sounded very "appealing" to me.
I desire to be a feminine woman...thought this book could give me some
pointers.

I received this book as a gift from my mother-in-law and am excited
to read it because I've heard so many great things about it.

The Heavenly Man is about the underground church in China.
Christians in those churches have a radical
and inspiring faith in God.
I want to knit my heart to other believers around the world.

Have you read any of these? Any thoughts or opinions on them?

  1. I've only read one of these, "Do hard things' and I really enjoyed it, very inspiring! The others sound really interesting, especially 'feminine appeal.'

Hope you get a chance to share your thoughts when your done reading them. : )

  2. I have not read any of these and I really enjoyed your group. The Heavenly Man sounds interesting. Evidence Not Seen also, I enjoy memoir, biography and autobiography type books, especially of those being transformed by grace!

  3. Great list! I have Do Hard Things on my list to read soon, before having my teenage daughter read it. Feminine Appeal is a personal favorite of mine. It's one I have to go back and reread every year or so. I absolutely love it! And I'm intrigued by Unglued too. I may have to try to fit it in.

  4. I read and very much appreciated The Heavenly Man when my sister-in-law recommended it to me (and loaned it to me) a couple years ago.

Feminine Appeal looks interesting to me--I really appreciate books that focus on femininity in the gender-neutral world we live in.
