The Master Weaver

"My life is but a weaving, between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors, He worketh steadily,
Oftimes He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper, and I the underside.
Until the loom is silent, and shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unfold the canvas and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful in the skillful Weaver's hand,
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned."

Progress Poem

PROGRESS

Until I learned to trust,
I never learned to pray.
And I did not learn to fully trust
Till sorrows came my way.
Until I felt my weakness,
His strength I never knew;
Nor dreamed till I was stricken,
That He could see me through.
Who deepest drinks of sorrow,
Drinks deepest too of grace;
He sends the storm so He Himself
Can be our hiding place.
His heart, that seeks our highest good,
Knows well when things annoy;
We would not long for Heaven,
If earth held only joy.

Quote from Martin Luther

 "I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess."
